Lean management in public institutions: Social Security Institutions (SSI) example

Lean management that is the one of main management approaches has been examined in this study. The emerge, the sources affected by during the improvement process and the events contributing the development of lean management has been discussed.The main principles of lean production and its evoluation to lean management has been tracked within this study. To determine the main affect of lean management especially for non-profit organizations, lean maps and main principles and rules of lean management has been discussed. The principles examined in the literature review part has been used to make out the implementation part of the study. Ecpecially the principles discussed in the literature part has been reviewed again whether they are the main components for the institutions. Lean management can be seen as newly developing issue for todays work environment. Within this context, organizations should review lean management issue as close or out of reach approach for themselves. Thus the actuality and importance of lean management may be established for organizations.
