Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to compare the pulp dissolving capacity of sonic, ultrasonic and intra canal heating systems from lateral canals. Fifty resin blocks with two lateral canals manufactured by using 3D printer were included. The pulps was tumbled into the lower lateral canals and weighed at a sensitivity of 10-5. Then, the samples were divided into 5 groups. Group 1: Control group, Group 2: Endoactivator system, Group 3: Passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), Group 4: Intracanal heating, Group 5: PUI+Intracanal heating. Each group was irrigated with 20 ml of 5 % NaOCl with a total irrigation time of 2 minutes and dried with paper points. After the procedure, each sample was weighed again and recorded. One way-Anova and Post hoc tests were used for statistical analysis. PUI+Intracanal heating grup dissolved statistically more pulp than other groups (p<0.05). While there was no significant difference between PUI and intracanal heating systems (p>0.05), they both dissolved significantly more pulp than control and endoactivator group (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between endoactivator and control group (p>0.05). Combined use of PUI + Intracanal heating methods in dissolving organic tissue from lateral canals gives the most successful result.
