Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between Kant's idea of perpetual peace and his normative ethics. Although the idea of perpetual peace did not emerge all of a sudden, the events Kant experienced, the era he lived in, the wars he witnessed, his critical approach and the moral law he put forward made him question the possibility of perpetual peace. It is known that the idea of peace was not first defended by Kant; however, it is quite clear that Kant presented a different perspective from his predecessors in terms of designing peace in a final way in the light of reason. He also mentions the necessity of laws and the power of law for perpetual peace to be permanent, and the normative effect of ethics is clearly seen when he lists what should and should not be in the form of items. This study will examine the relationship between Kant's normative ethics and the idea of perpetual peace, and it will be claimed that Kant's normative ethics determines the idea of perpetual peace. Keywords Categorical Imperative, Duty, Freedom, Responsibility, Reason, Peace, War Law.
