Abstract (EN)

In thesis study, which was carried out in the research and application area of Akdeniz University, under greenhouse conditions, it was aimed to determine the characteristics of selected Cantaloupe type melon genotypes brought to different stages, to continue the studies for further stages test the combination characteristics of Galia type melon genotypes at the F4 generations with the local variety. In the research, Galia melon types in the F4 and F5 stages, bagributun melon types in the F4 stage, 10 genotypes belonging to the pre-hybrid melon and hybrid melon hybrids, and 2 Gallia type melon cultivars were used as control cultivars. During the research period, according to the UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants) and IPGRI (The International Plant Genetic Resources Institute) criteria; emergence rate (%), in plants; main stem thickness (mm), internode length (cm), plant vigor, plant height (cm), in leaves; leaf shape, leaf color, leaf lobe, leaf blade length (cm), leaf blade width (cm), petiole length (cm), petiole hairiness, in flowers; earliness in female flowers, earliness in male flowers, flower type and flower color, fruits; fruit weight (g), fruit corrugation, fruit ground color, secondary fruit skin color, fruit surface, fruit stem rupture, fruit skin color (L, C, H), fruit flesh color (L, C, H), fruit tip shape , fruit shape, fruit skin thickness (mm), fruit flesh thickness (mm), fruit stem length (cm), fruit stem thickness (mm), fruit length (cm), fruit width (mm), core house diameter (cm), ripening time, total amount of water soluble dry matter (SÇKM) (%) measurements and observations were investigated. According to the results of the research, it was determined that genotype T-34 had the longest and widest leaves in terms of leaf blade width and length in inbred melons. T-15 genotype was prominent in terms of main body thickness. The plants of the genotype T-4 were measured as the tallest plants in terms of plant hight. The highest value in fruit weight criterion was determined in the T-15 genotype and Çıtırex F1 cultivar, respectively. SÇKM was highest measured in genotypes T-15 and T-34, respectively. T-34 and T-15, respectively, were determined as the earliest ripening genotypes in terms of maturation time.
