This research was done in order to determine the effects of body type, preferred hand, sitting duration and classroom types on musculoskeletal system disorders in Karadeniz Technical University Medical School. In this descriptive research, sample group consisted of 197 male and 245 female students studying in Karadeniz Technical University, a total of 443 students. In order to collect data, questionnaire form about sociodemographic situations which was prepared by the researcher, Nordic musculoskeletal system disorders questionnaire and Hand dominance questionnaire was used. classroom and lecture rooms were inspected for their hardware, size, heat, luminance and student capacity. desk and chair data was collected about the materials used, height, width and length. For the analysis of collected data, frequency, percentage, t test, chi-squared test statistical analysis were used. For analytics, SPSS 22.00 Statistics package program was used on a computer. After the research, following results were obtained: female students had more elbow, back, shoulder pain than male students. Students who were taking lessons in classrooms had more elbow pain than the students in the lecture rooms. Male students preferred classrooms whereas female students preferred lecture rooms. students who used lecture rooms 0-2 hours had more neck, elbow pain than classrooms. students who used classrooms 2-4 hours had more back pain in the last 12 months, female students who used lecture rooms 4-6 hours had more elbow pain, female students who used classrooms 6-8 hours had more femur pain and male students who used classrooms 0-2 hours had more back pain in the last 12 months. As for the source of the problem, desk and chairs in the classrooms being unfit for the physical specifications of students may be responsible. Adjustable modules can be an appropriate solution. Serious, tidy and organized rooms where color harmony is appropriate would bring a convenient studying environment resulting in a positive attitude in students about mood and motivation which would have beneficial effects in education.
