Abstract (EN)
Hâdi'l-uşşâk is a religious verse work by Kaygulu Halil Efendi, who was a sheikh in the dervish lodge he founded in Bursa. Kaygulu Halil Efendi was a descendant of Kaygulu Bey, the assistant of Süleyman Pasha, one of Orhan Bey's emirs. He lived in Bursa between 1758-1820. In his work Hâdi'l-uşşâk, he expressed his love for Allah, the prophet, the four caliphs, the basic faith and worship issues of the Islamic religion, catechism information, the states of heaven and hell, the deaths of Muhammad, the four caliphs, Hz. Fatıma, Hz. Hasan and Hüseyin, and finally, information about himself. In this respect, it also has the characteristic of a poetic catechism. The poems are usually preceded by a verse or hadith related to the subject. The work is one of the rare mathnavi examples written in syllabic meter in our literature. In his works, he aimed to convey his message to a wide audience with a simple and clear language, far from poetic and artistic concerns. The work, which was highly appreciated in the years it was written and afterwards, was completed by the sheikh al-islam of the period and the sultan of the period, Mahmud II, sent the poet a memorandum of understanding and a letter. The work was described as "Muhammediye-i sânî" due to its similarity to Yazıcıoğlu Mehmed's Muhammediye. It is a remarkable work because the poems contain many indicators about the culture, education, religious life, social life and beliefs of the period, the structure and functioning of the lodges and dervish lodges, it was widely read during and after the period it was written, and it had an impact on the religious education of the masses. This study consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a transcript, a glossary, an index, and appendices. The introduction examines the methodology employed in preparing the study, its sources, and the culture of Sufism in Bursa. The first chapter provides information on the life and works of Kaygulu Halil Efendi, as well as the Kaygulu Dervish Lodge. The second chapter examines Hâdi'l-uşşâk. The findings of the study are summarized in the Conclusion, attempting to place the work within literary history. Subsequently, the transcript of the work was prepared. A glossary and index were prepared to facilitate comprehension and effective use of the text.
