Kashfu'l-Huda a commentary of Qasida-i Burda written in Eastern Turkish analysis – text – index

In this study, the translation of one of two known copies of the Keşfü'l-Hüdâ, written by Hüseyn-i Hârezmî, one of which is located at Berlin City Library, with Ms. or. oct. 1688 registration number, and the translation was made into modern Turkish language, the grammatical characteristics were determined and an index of words was generated. Besides, the differences between the other copy, located in Süleymaniye Library, Mahmud Paşa Collection, with 271 registration number and the copy in Berlin City Library was determined and assessed. A colored scanned copy of both copies in Berlin City Library and Süleymaniye Library were obtained and they are given at the fourth part of the thesis. Keşfü'l-Hüdâ, written as annotation to Kaside-i Bürde of Hüseyn-i Hârezmî has been explained in the study in five chapters. Chapter one consists of general information about Bûsîrî and Kaside-i Bürde, the reasons of writing the work, the stories and rituals that has been told and annotations about the work. Also at this chapter, information about Hüseyn-i Hârezmî the author of Keşfü'l-Hüdâ, the copyright reason of the work and date, the copy dates of editions, its location in writing of annotations, and the writing properties were explained. At the second chapter, the copy of Berlin -in comparison with the copy in Süleymaniye- the phonetic and structural features and part of speech were assessed in detail in terms of vocabulary; and the obtained data was compared with Hârezm Turkish and Chagatai primarily and other historical and contemporary branches of Turkish. Chapter three consists of the translated version of Keşfü'l-Hüdâ. At this chapher, the original text of Kaside-i Bürde and some Arabic, Persian couplets and stanza were protected. Moreover, at this chapter, the comparison of both copies of the work was made and determined differences were assessed. At the chapter four where the translation of annotation written by Hüseyn-i Hârezmî to modern Turkish language is given, other Turkish annotations, especially Kaside-i Bürde was taken into consideration and they were used. At this chapter of thesis, translation to modern Turkish of the relevant couplets of Kaside-i Bürde is also given. The translation was made by being faithful to source text of Keşfü'l-Hüdâ, by mixing the poetical- prosaic methods. In the index that is fifth section of the study, grammatical index of the text constituting the third part of the study was formed.
