Abstract (EN)

Interactions with the central nervous system, endocrine system, sensory organs and sexual organs constitute the physiological mechanism of sexuality. Sexuality is not only an instinct that has a physiological basis, the emotions and attitudes felt while experiencing it constitute the psychological dimension of sexuality. Sexual health is affected by society's beliefs about sexuality and the individual's sexual education. Sexual myths are prejudices that the individual cannot learn his or her sexuality from the right sources, and that information about their sexual health is lacking from the correct understanding. Sexual myths can affect the sexual satisfaction and anxiety level of the individual by disrupting the sexual health of the individual, developing sexual dysfunction and behavioral disorders. In this thesis study, the relationship between the level of belief in sexual myths of clinical psychology graduate students and their level of sexual satisfaction and anxiety were investigated. For this, in the findings of the study conducted with a total of 156 clinical psychology graduate students, 80 female and 76 male, using the Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS), Beck Anxiety Scale (BAI) and Sexual Myths Scale (SMS), A positive and significant relationship was found between the anxiety levels of female participants and the sub-dimensions of GRISS satisfaction, avoidance, vaginismus, and between the anxiety levels of male participants and GRISS avoidance, touching, premature ejaculation, and impotence. On the other hand, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the participants' GRISS and SMS scores, while the GRISS scores of those who received sexual education were significantly lower. According to the graduation variable, SMS scores did not differ, while it was found that the GRISS scores of male participants differ significantly, but the GRISS scores of female participants did not differ. It was found that the GRUSS scores of male participants whose undergraduate graduation field was psychology were higher than those without psychology.
