Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a descriptive study to examine the effect of quality of life on the status of limitations and symptom levels of patients with congestive heart failure. The universe of this study was the patients who were treated between May 2017 and November 2018 in Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Practice Hospital and Private Sani Konukoğlu Hospital cardiology clinic and coronary intensive care units. Data were collected by face-to-face interview technique through the patient presentation form, CLASP and SF-36 quality of life scales. It was determined that 54,90% of the participating individuals were male and 54,76 ± 13,35 of the average age. of patients; chest pain, respiratory insufficiency, wrist swelling, fatigue and physical and social functions were found to be at a serious level, normal levels of restraint were found in female and male domestic activities and sexuality score, and anxiety levels were moderate. Negative correlations were found between most subscale of CLASP and all subscale scores of SF-36 quality of life scale, most of which were moderate or strong. SF-36 quality of life scores were found to be generally low. Scores are generally lower in women. It is suggested that training programs and initiatives to improve quality of life for patients with heart failure should be emphasized, health workers should be careful about symptom control in patients with heart failure, planning of in-depth investigations for women with heart failure, determination of functional capacity of patients and use of NYHA classification.
