Evaluation of factors affecting immobilization comfort, hematoma and pain in patients undergoing coronary angiography

Research; It was conducted in a descriptive-sectional type in order to determine the factors affecting the immobilization comfort, hematoma and pain of the patients undergoing coronary angiography. The study was completed with 202 patients who underwent coronary angiography between 10.12.2020 and 15.01.2021 at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Health Practice and Research Hospital. The data of the research; The data were collected with the "Patient Descriptive Information Form", "VAS (Visual Analogue Scale)" and "Immobilization Comfort Scale", which included sociodemographic features created by the researcher through a literature review. Behaviors of quantitative variables were indicated using centralization and measures of variance: Mean±SD, Fisher Exact (in case of low sample size), and Chi-square test were used to identify differences in ratios or relationships between categorical variables. To show the behavioral differences of the group averages; Student t-test was used when normality and uniformity assumptions were met, Mann-Whitney U Test was used when three or more groups were compared, One-way Anova Test was used for data with normal distribution when three or more groups were compared, and Kuruskal Wallis test was used in cases where they did not. Non-parametric Spearman's Rank Correlation test was used to calculate the correlation between any two numerical variables, since the data did not have a normal distribution. Statistical significance was determined as p<0.05 for all cases. Statistical analyzes were provided with the IBM SPSS 22.00 package program. Of the patients participating in the study, 63.9% were male, 89.1% were married, 85% were primary school graduates, and the mean age was 62.39±11.96. The comfort status of individuals is measured with the Immobilization Comfort Scale. In the study, it was determined that the patients got the lowest 60 and the highest 114 points from the Comfort Scale, and their total mean score was 93.08±12.26. As a result of the scale and findings applied in this study, it was revealed that the choice of puncture site affects pain and comfort but does not affect bleeding and hematoma in patients who have undergone coronary angiography.
