Abstract (EN)
This study presents a detailed analysis of tree diameter, height, vitality status, and species in a national park in Turkey. Our research reveals that Brutian pine is the dominant species in the forest ecosystem, comprising a significant portion of the total tree volume. Other species, including juniper, bald oak, kermes oak, and thuja oak, contribute to the forest's biodiversity, yet they occupy a lesser volume and number. The predominance of living trees in the total tree volume indicates the overall good health of the forest. Diameter and height distributions show variability among species, with living trees generally reaching larger sizes. Brutian pine, accounting for over 90% of the total volume, plays a crucial role in the ecosystem's conservation and sustainability. This study provides valuable insights for the development of forest management and conservation strategies, emphasizing the importance of maintaining species diversity.
