Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT İn his book titled "Muhtıra-i Rical ve Siyasiyyûn", Musa Kazım Efendi, the former Governor of Kozan, describes the history of the prophets starting from Hz. Adam, ancient civilisations, the Middle Ages, Islamic history, Ottoman history and in particular the events from the reign of Abdülhamid II until 1911 when the book was written. In his work, the author has tried to introduce the establishment and collapse processes of the states that emerged in many parts of the world, important rulers, artists, scientists and clergymen of these states. The work titled "Muhtıra-i Rical ve Siyasiyyûn" consists of five chapters. The first chapter covers the birth of Adam and Eve in 5000 BC and the events of 4200 years afterwards. Since there was no writing in this long period of humanity, the events cannot be presented in detail. The second part covers the events of 800 years from 776 BC to the birth of Jesus Christ. In this section, mainly Egyptian, Ancient Greek, Roman, Hellenic and Persian cultures, important rulers and developments in their respective periods are mentioned. The third chapter covers the events of 622 years from the birth of Jesus Christ to the migration from Mecca to Medina. Civilisations such as Byzantine, Sassanid, Central Asian Turks, Chinese, Indian civilisations and the Age of Prophet Muhammad are described. In the fourth chapter, the events of 677 years from 622 to 1299, Islamic States, Turkish Islamic states and states such as the Mongols, as well as events in other regions and Europe are also described. In the fifth chapter, the events, people and states of 611 years from 1299 to 1910 are described. The author deals with the Ottoman Empire, which is among the most important states of this period, under each sultan under a separate heading in accordance with the chronology. In addition, the Geographical Discoveries in Europe, the Renaissance, the Reformation, the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution and the developments that occurred afterwards and the developments in other parts of the world are also explained.
