Abstract (EN)
Language changes and improves like everything in the nature. Phonemes, structure properties and words, which consist of the basic parts of the language, have been exposed to changes and improvements during the historic process. It indicates that languages are available thanks to human beings, and so language will change and improve as well as human beings change and improve. This process can be followed with a diachronic study on languages. A Language gives us information about the geographic places where a nation has lived, the nation's immigrations and cultures. This study indicates in which ways Bashkir Turkish, which is one of the current representatives of the ancient Qipchaq Turkish vocabulary to be followed by the written resources, has been exposed to semantic changes. In the present study, the common vocabulary between the ancient Qipchaq Turkish and Bashkir Turkish was determined and the semantic changes between these vocabularies were classified. The classification process was realized based on the commonalities in Qipchaq Turkish Dictionary by Recep Toparlı and Bashkir Turkish Dictionary by Murat Özşahin. The semantic changes were classified under the titles called semantic restriction, semantic extension, semantic transfer, semantic recovery and semantic deterioration. These were analysed by using the diachronic linguistic method. The Qipchaq Turkish language reminders in Bashkir Turkish vocabulary, which is the inheritor of the ancient Qipchaq Turkish, were determined in general terms.
