Abstract (EN)

This study examines the historical development and current state of Kyrgyz religious culture. Prior to embracing Islam, the Kyrgyz people, like other Turkish nations, were influenced by various beliefs and maintained their traditions based on those beliefs. Whith the arrival of Islam in Central Asia, a process of Islamization began among the Kyrgyz people. During this process, the lifestyle of Kyrgyz Turks progressed in accordance whith religious principles. In the 20 th century, following the occupation of Soviet Russia, the Kyrgyz Turks underwent significant changes in all aspects of life, including a departure from religious characteristics. This situation also reflected in their oral culture, where the connection to religion remained. After gaining independence, there has been a revival of religion in Kyrgyzstan, leadig to developments in the field of religion. However, this has also resulted in the proliferation of different religios movements due to propagandistic efforts to promote religion. The first, second, and third culture, while the final section examines religious developments in Kyrgyzstan.
