Abstract (EN)

Recently, it is a very popular issue that the way to realize economic development is through some policies applied at the regional and especially the urban level. The most striking of these policies is the clustering model. It is emphasized that being able to compete in the global arena by realizing both urban and general economic development will be possible with the reflection of spatial practices. In other words, the success of sectors that form agglomerations with a collective consciousness in a given economic geography underlies urban and wider development. In the context of clustering and the impact of clustering on urban development, the way of general development turns into a spatial scale in the form of local development depending on cluster formation. Clustering of economic activities in a certain area is one of the most important factors for the development of cities and their sustainability. This study tries to determine the benefit of the clustering model in urban development and how the clustered carpet industry in Gaziantep contributes to the development of the city.
