Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to describe Bashkir as a written language through the texts of the foundation period and to reveal the differences or similarities between the Bashkir language and Chagatai Turkish which is the common written language of the period. For this purpose, a corpus is created from sections selected from the Arabic, Latin and Cyrillic written language periods of Bashkir. The selected parts from the Bashkir Bible translation in Cyrillic letters dated 1902 are also included in this corpus. In the introduction section, the subject, aim, importance and limitations of the study are given. In the second section, information about Chagatai Turkish, Bashkir, place of Bashkir language among Turkish languages/dialects, processes of Bashkir written language formation and alphabets formed for Bashkir are given. In the third section, study material is introduced and method is explained. In the fourth part of the study, the phonetic and morphological features identified in the texts are examined under two main headings, showing the language features of Old Turkish and Chagatai Turkish. In the fifth section, results obtained in the research are presented. In the sixth section, translation of the texts is done and lines of the text are numbered to indicate their periods. In the seventh section, grammatical index and dictionary of the translated texts are prepared. Original examples of the texts examined are shown in the appendix section. According to the study in which the phonetic and morphological features of the texts belonging in the foundation period of Bashkir language are examined, it can be inferred from the available texts that Bashkir had an independent written language. The study contains data that will be a source for the researches about the foundation period of Bashkir written language.
