Abstract (EN)
Narrative, discourse and hermeneutics are the three main critical perspectives focused on systematically explaining and interpreting literary texts through their fictional relationships, internal and external qualities. The literary text which is comprised of intricate web of affairs, compositional singularity and multidimensional threads of fictional worlds designates an organic and enigmatic entity. In the classical sense, narrative means to reflect a potential course of action with a certain chronology within the most basic principles of logic. This narrative frame, which is evaluated as reductionist and normative, gradually breaks down through interrogations of cultural and bodily codes. Through the agency of this breakdown, literary production turns into an arena of cultural, linguistic and compositional irregularities and the analytical surveys encircling the narrative poetics also begins to proliferate. In this way, contemporary narrative poetics both broadens its presentational spectrum with the possibilities of complex linguistic, cultural materials, and also experiences its golden age with strategic repertoire. Contemporary Turkish narrative as a privileged literary authenticity thrives on the productive wheels of this golden age. Through the medium of Leylâ Erbil's literary works, Turkish récit acquires a strategical depth in the triangle of narrative, discourse and hermeneutics. The compositional boundaries are crossed and new generation of literary production which is hybrid and mobile emerges as disruptive and disjunctive. Conventional narrative routines are renounced. Narrative discourse boldly asserts its morphological contexture, grammatical autonomy; The performative and representative nature of literary meaning set sail for tacit and negative horizons. The aim of this doctoral dissertation is to analyze the narrative poetics in Leylâ Erbil's works, with three methodological perspectives: narrative, discourse and hermeneutics.
