Abstract (EN)
In this study, the carbon (C) content of some agricultural soils in Soma district of Manisa, where lignite accumulation takes place, and the changes in the humic and fulvic acid contents of the soils and their agricultural significance were investigated. The research area is the lands near the 8 km line of Bakırçay passing through Soma. Lignite accumulation of the agricultural lands used in the research is due to exposure to Bakırçay floods loaded with lignite particles or agricultural irrigations from Bakırçay. It has been determined that the sand, clay and silt amounts of the soil samples were taken from 18 sampling points in 3 replications vary between 27-50%, 22-45% and 23-36%, respectively. In addition, the texture classes of the soils differ as clayey, loamy, sandy-clay loam and clayey loam. It has been determined that the C content of the soils without lignite accumulation varies between 4.50-4.87%, and the soils with lignite accumulation vary between 5.64-26.45%, as well as that the lignite accumulation caused a statistically significant (P<0.0001) change in both humic and fulvic acid contents of soils. It has been revealed that the amount of humic acid in soils without lignite accumulation varies between 0.36% and 0.72% in soils with lignite accumulation, between 2.71-9.88%. However, fulvic acid could not be determined in soils without lignite accumulation, but it was determined to be between 0.22-1.02% in soils with lignite accumulation. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between the C, sand and clay contents and EC value of the soil and the humic acid contents in the soils with lignite accumulation. In soils with lignite accumulation in terms of fulvic acid content, a significant relationship was established with the sand and clay contents of the soil. According to the findings obtained in this study, it was concluded that humic and fulvic acid values may positively affect the productivity of the soils of the region.
