The relationship of partner violence with social work in the case of Manisa Celal Bayar University

Purpose: Although violence exists in all age groups, it is accepted by the World Health Organization that adolescents and young people are more exposed to violence. One of the types of violence seen in these age groups is flirting violence. It was found in the literature review that partner violence has negative effects on university students and that university students do not have enough information about partner violence. In this context, in the thesis titled is 'The Relationship between Partner Violence and Social Work in Manisa Celal Bayar University', violence and partner violence, the direction of partner violence, causes, gender, patriarchal structure, the dimensions of partner violence experienced in university students were discussed. Materials and methods: The thesis ''The Relationship between Partner Violence and Social Work in the Case of Manisa Celal Bayar University'' was reached to 378 students studying in the central district of Manisa Celal Bayar University with the qualitative research method. The literature was reviewed and the form consisting of Attitude towards Violence in Close Relationships Scale, Gender Perception Scale, Relationship Evaluation Scale and sociodemographic data were used. Results: It was determined that the mean scores were high in the forms and scales applied, and patriarchal thinking was present in university students. In addition, it was found that the majority of the students did not know about the severity of flirting and the work of the social worker and persistent follow-up victimization. Conclusion: It was determined that university students were exposed to flirting violence and did not have awareness about this situation.
