Abstract (EN)
The concept of a museum, which arose from the accumulation of valuable objects, has acquired the goals of obtaining information, archiving, researching and educating, as well as preserving them over time. With the proliferation of museums and the increase in the diversity of objects on display, classification has been made. Types of museums are classified according to their collections, management, regions they serve, methods of exhibition, functions and use of information in museums. This classification helps to determine the types of museums, but does not affect the main definition of the museum. A clear understanding of the works exhibited in museums can be achieved by the comfortable realization of the orientation behavior. Direction-finding behavior is becoming more important due to the problems of getting lost in complex structures, not being able to determine where it is located and not being able to predict how to get to the destination. The user realizes the orientation behavior by perceiving and interpreting his environment in the structure. There are four factors that affect direction finding. These are plan layout, sign systems, perception of the environment, personal differences. With one's past experiences, individuals may exhibit different behaviors in the same environment, and with the complexity of plan layout and the lack of sign systems, direction-finding behavior may become difficult. The study focuses on the problem of the user having difficulties in finding directions because it was designed with ignoring that depth of the space and the different types of works are affect direction finding in the created space fiction.It is aimed to determine how and to what extent the space fiction created in museums of different depths and collection types affects the user and to examine the extent to which the differences of the works exhibited are effective in finding direction. In line with the determined purpose, the space syntax method, which examines the relationship between spaces without considering the elements such as size, color, material and form, was used. Access graphs indicating the spatial relations of the selected museums within the scope of the study were drawn. The data obtained from the access graph were compared by creating a table according to the type of collection, structural quality and all selected museums. As a result of the examination, it was determined that museums should be designed according to the type of collection.
