Determining the effects of mechanization systems on lettuce growing in hydroponic environment

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of stagnant water culture in an unheated greenhouse, Akansu culture and growing systems in earthen tubes, green curly lettuce (Caipia) and red curly lettuce (Giardian) varieties were investigated. Within the scope of the study, a 4-line pipe system was constructed by drilling 55 mm holes on 5-storey pipes with a distance of 20 cm on the row and 50, 100, 150 and 200 ml / s were circulated respectively on each line. In the pool system, 72 lettuce were planted on each styrofoam in the same way, including 18 plants with 20 cm distance between rows and above rows. Throughout the research, pumps were operated for 15 minutes every day to circulate the water with nutrients in the system. In the experiments, 20x20x20 fertilizers were added in the first two weeks, 15x40x5 in the next two weeks and 12x5x40 in the last two weeks by dissolving into the water every week. At the end of the study, the root length, total plant height, stem diameter, root collar diameter, number of leaves, marketable plant weight, root weight, leaf number, crown width, chlorophyll amount, choice value and color (L, a, b) analyzed. At the end of the study, the best values in terms of plant characteristics were obtained in the pool system. Pooled and tubular systems followed these values. It has been determined that the effects of floor locations, electrical conductivity values, pH and par values on plant properties are important in the tubular system, while the effects of temperature, par and pH are important in the pooled system. Within 33 days in the pooled system, 23,542 cm root length, 22.883 cm plant height, 59.827 mm stem diameter, 11.139 cm root collar diameter, 0.128 kg total plant weight, 0.115 kg marketable plant weight, 0.013 root weight, 277.193 cm2 leaf area, 28.583 cm crown width, 23.092 spad chlorophyll content, 4.092% soluble and 21.417 leaves. The tubular system came to the fore only in terms of root weight. In Lxaxb values, there is no difference between pooled and piped demand, while 53.510, -22.420 and 37.541 values are reached, respectively. Although the cost of the piped system in terms of investment costs is determined higher than the cost of the pooled system, no difference has been determined in terms of operating costs. Whether the effect of water circulation at different flows in each line on plant growth is important in the tubular system could not be clearly determined due to the predominance of other factors examined.
