The teachers of vocational secondary schools examination of their exposure to bullying behavior with burnout : Beykoz sample

In this research, it is aimed to determine the relation between the mobbing behaviors that teachers working in the vocational schools face and their vocational burnouts and additionally to suggest solutions. The research is conducted with 251 teachers working in the vocational high schools in Istanbul`s Beykoz province. "Piers - Herrisen Burn-Out Scale" is used to measure teachers` burnouts. `Working Place Mobbing Scale` is used to measure mobbing behaviors that teachers` faced. Datas are analyzed within to SPSS(a package computer program for statistics analysis). Mobbing behaviors that teachers` face and their vocational burnouts are examined within the variables: sex, age, marital status, number of children, spouse works or not, education status, branch, vocational seniority and seniority in the school. `t test` and One-Way-ANOVA were utilized for data analysis. Additionally, regression analysis is conducted for analyzing the effect of mobbing behaviours on burnouts. The results revealed that mobbing behaviors that teachers face lead to increase in level vocational burnouts. Under demographic characteristics, it is determined that as the number of children increases mobbing behaviors increase. It is found out that married teachers face more mobbing behaviors then the single ones. It is observed that as the teachers` education levels increase, their burnouts increase. Additionally, the results showed that cultural class teachers have higher burnout rates than vocational class teachers. It can be concluded that mobbing behaviors are effective on teachers` burnouts but, burnouts can not be explained only with mobbing behaviors. Keywords: 1. Psychological Mobbing 2. Mobbing 3.
