Metabolik sendromda lipoprotein (a) düzeyleri

Although lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is a recognized risk factor for cardiovascular disease, there is still debate regarding how it may affect metabolic syndrome (MS).The goal of this thesis is to declare the connection between lipoprotein (a) and a metabolic syndrome componen, and evaluation of lipoprotein (a) among patients with metabolic syndrome. This study was carried out in the emergency teaching hospital and Azadi teaching hospital in Duhok city in Iraq. The study include 154 subjects. 86 were metabolic syndrome patients and 68 were healthy subjects. The metabolic syndrome components (HDL,FBS,TRIGLYCERIDE) LDL and Lp (a) were measured by using the autoanlyzer Cobas C311 and Cobas C6000. According to our study Lp(a) is significantly higher in metabolic syndrome patients, numerous studies have demonstrated that patients with metabolic syndrome have higher cardiovascular risk. We discovered that Lp(a) level were elevated in patients with metabolic syndrome, and we recommend that risk factor be included during the evaluation of patients with metabolic syndrome in addition to other established risk factors.
