Abstract (EN)
Boron nitride is an engrossing material in the area of materials science. Being isoelectronic of both boron and nitrogen to carbon brings the special bonding behaviors which leads BN able to occur in several different structures. Variety in structures bring forth the different chemical and physical properties proper to the use of different industrial areas. In this study, hexagonal boron nitride was synthesized by the modified O'Connor method in presence of various metal oxides. The analysis for determining the structural properties of the synthesized materials were done by X-Ray Diffraction, (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, (FTIR), and Scanning Electron Microscopy, (SEM). The verification of the hexagonal boron nitride, (hBN), formation is achieved by the main peaks in results of FTIR, XRD respectively. The lattice parameters of samples were calculated and exposed to be very close to the original hBN. The grain size calculations and SEM analysis confirmed the nano-scale of the synthesized products.
