Microbial and antimicrobial study of bloodstream infection of recovered COVID-19 patients

As a systemic disease produced by the spread of bacteria or their toxins in the bloodstream, bloodstream infection is regarded to be one of the most lethal diseases. In this study, 150 blood samples were taken annually from hospitalized patients exhibiting clinical symptoms of harm following exposure to burns or surgery. This research was conducted between 12/1/2121 and 3/1/2022 among those who recovered from Covid-19 in the city of Kirkuk. The types of bacteria transmitted to the bloodstream isolated after Covid-19 were analyzed and the rate of infections caused by each was calculated according to type, age and gender. Bacterial strains were identified by purification based on phenotypic and microscopic examination using the Vitek 2 and Abi 20 biochemical tests. Antibiotic resistance of the isolated species was investigated.
