Abstract (EN)
Introduction: Atrophic Gastritis is an important risk factor in the formation of gastric cancer. The remodelling of Epigenetic chromatin plays a vital role in carcinogenesis. In Our Study we aimed at researching the value of genes in the chromatin remodelling system as diagnostic and prognostic markers in atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer patients. Materials And Method: Our study consisted of 95 individuals which included 34 Gastric cancer, 36 atrophic gastritis and 25 control patients. Chromatin remodelling Gene expressions in gastric cancer, atrophic gastritis and control groups were evaluated and compared using RT-PCR array method. Atrophic Gastritis patients were separated into subgroups depending on the presence of H.Pylori, a risk factor for gastric cancer, and gene expression was carried out. Gastric cancer patients were divided into subgroups according to prognostic features of tumor aggressiveness, metastasis presence and gastric location and then gene expression was analyzed. Results: A significant change in gene expression profiles of ING5, CXB7, ARID1A, EED, MTA1, CXB3 were found in gastric cancer and atrophic gastritis patients compared to the control group. EED, MTA1, CBX3 genes showed a significant high expression in metastatic gastric cancer patients in proportion to non-metastatic patients. There was no significant difference found in gene expression in gastric cancer patients compared to Atrophic gastritis patients. Conclusion: The genes ING5, CXB7, ARID1A, EED, MTA1, CXB3 play a role in gastric carcinogenesis and these genes can be used as early diagnostic markers for gastric cancer even in early atrophic gastritis, however we feel there is need to do further studies on the topic.
