Abstract (EN)

Migraine is a chronic disease that negatively affects individuals' quality of life. This study aimed to examine physical activity, sleep, caffeine use and nutritional status in migraine patients according to chronobiology. 80 volunteer female patients (mean age: 37.04±9.0) who applied to the neurology outpatient clinic and were diagnosed with migraine participated in the study. A personal information form was prepared for these individuals and body composition measurements (body weight, height, waist and hip circumference) were taken. Participants were administered the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire, Caffeine Consumption Disorder, Hedonistic Eating, Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire and Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Headache Impact Scale (HIT-6), Migraine Disability Assessment Scale (MIDAS), Visual Pain Scale (VAS). In the analysis of the data, along with descriptive statistics, independent sample T test and Mann-Whitney U test, One-Way Analysis of Variance and Kruskal Wallis test were used and the significance level was taken as p<0.05. There was no significant difference between individuals' physical activity levels, sleep, caffeine use and eating attitudes according to chronotypes (p>0.05). When compared with MIDAS, HIT-6 and VAS pain values, a significant difference was found only according to MIDAS score category (p<0.05). A significant difference was found between migraine age and chronotype scores and chronotype categories (p<0.05). As a result, it is seen that the number of individuals with eveningness is higher according to chronotype, individuals with older migraine age have lower levels of caffeine use and eating attitudes, and the number of individuals with normal sleepiness levels is higher.
