Abstract (EN)
Genocide defined in the form of eliminating national, ethnic, racial, or religious group partly or completely has been considered human reality since ancient times, but this activity has been regarded as actual crime and regulated in International Law only in 20th century. In this frame, UN Convention on the Preventation and Punishment of Crime of Genocide has been accepted by the members of UN and pursuant to this Convention, states have undertaken preventive and punitive duties and responsibilities. In this regard, Turkey has made necessary amendments in the Turkish Criminal Law numbered 5237 to fulfill its obligation.
