Abstract (EN)
In this research, Mirza Gulam Ahmed's life, ideas and the perception of Ahmadis' Mirza Ghulam Ahmad were studied. The thesis consists of four sections with introduction. In the introduction, the information was given about the religious and cultural structure of the Indian sub-continent in which Mirza Ghulam Ahmad lived and had deep traces on his ideas. Then, the messiah / mahdi expectations about the heavenly religions were informed in the center of messianic ideas. In the first part of the study, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's life, religious activities, political ideas, founding of Ahmadiyyah and his works were examined. In this context, it was determined that the formation and basic differentiation of Ahmadiyyah was developed based on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. The subject of the second part of the study is the missions of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in the context of the mujaddidiyyat, messianism, and mahdism. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad described his mujaddid/tajdid mission to differentiate himself from Islamic tradition, characterizing as "vahbi" and used the concept "divine chosenness" in this respect. He argued as "an order of the religion" his claim that Indo-Islamic conception was not a stranger. In his missions of the messiah and the mahdi, he took inspiration from "the divine savior" conception in the religions of the region which were not the institution of prophecy. In this context, it is possible to say that the approach which combines the mission of the messiah and the mahdi developed on the basis of Indo-Islamism. In the third part of the study, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's thoughts on muhaddeth and his claim of prophethood were examined. It was revealed that the starting point of his keeping prophecy was envoyship theory in the Sufi tradition; however, it was observed that it was completed through the Indian thought (as in the ideas of mujaddidiyyat, messianism, and mahdism). Thus, it has been determined that he had developed a new theory of prophethood that can be called as "mesianic prophethood". In the last part of the study, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and perception of Ahmadis on him was examined, it has been emphasized that there are two kinds of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad perspective developed by Ahmadis. It has been determined that Lahore Ahmadis tend to neglect the controversial issues in his missions, in order to get closer to Muslims, and that Qadiyanî Ahmadis are trying to exalt him to create a new "prophetic history" for him.
