Traces of masculine domination in modern philosophy

The aim of this study is to try to analyze the patterns of masculine domination within the framework of the concepts of modern philosophy. The main argument guiding this thesis is that modern philosophy, as in other ages, constructs itself in a line of development that takes as reference the male-female opposition. In this context, in the first part of the study, masculine domination was discussed by limiting it to the duality of men and women. In the second part, the concept of hegemonic masculinity, where the damage caused by masculine domination is not limited to only women, but also harms men in the same way, is tried to be explained. The third section deals with the concept of "subalternised masculinity" in the light of the conceptual framework of the first two chapters and suggests to consider another problem of our age, the AIDS, within the context of masculine domination. Throughout all these discussions, this study has attempted to reveal how masculine domination spreads and structures different forms of relationship, as well as to show how much the existence of masculine domination depends on a change in our mindset.
