Münşeât-i 'Osmaniye (analysis- text)

The purpose of this thesis study is to recognize and introduce the work named Münşeât-ı 'Osmâniye, which has not been studied before, by examining it in terms of form and content. The first examples of münşeât in the field of old Turkish literature XV. ıt began to appear in the century and XX. ıt continued as a literary tradition until the 19th century. Münşeât's has created examples that include official and private correspondence letters, verse letters, speech, etc. Thus, they became a type that brings together all kinds of prose, just like the sofas that collect poems. The münşeât mecmûa that we have examined is one of the examples to be given to this tradition. It is an important work that shows the language and style used according to the makam written in the letter samples in this mecmû written to be taught in Rüşdiye Schools and also the extent of social relations in the Ottoman Empire. In our study consisting of four parts, XIX. Until the end of the century, the concepts of prose, construction and münşeât were emphasized in Old Turkish Literature. Afterwards, information about Münşeât-ı 'Osmâniye was given and comparisons between the two printed copies we have were made in terms of form and content. Then, the text was tried to be analyzed in terms of form, content, language and style. Finally, the text we transferred to the New Turkish letters is given and the study is completed with the result and evaluation. The thesis was completed by adding a bibliography and a dictionary at the end of the study. Key words: Prose, Construction, Münşeât, Letter, Münşeât-ı 'Osmâniye.
