Özet (EN)
Klebsiella spp. can lead to community-acquired infections while its species cause hospital infections. Community-acquired infections by them may be caused owing to contact from person to person or use of your personal belongings. Therefore Klebsiella spp. Carriage that cause community-acquired infections is important. With this thesis, the antimicrobial susceptibility of community-acquired strains of Klebsiella was aimed to reveal. Total 332 stool samples taken from outpatients applied Muş state hospital were used for isolation for this aim. 23 Klebsiella spp. strains was isolated at ratio of 6.93% from 332 stool samples. In addition, 11 urine strains isolated from outpatients were used in the study. Fecal Klebsiella isolates were identifed as following; 19 K. pneumoniae, 2 K. oxytoca, 1 K. ozaenae and 1 K. rhinoscleromatis. All of urine isolates were identified as K. pneumoniae. Antimicrobial susceptibility of isolates were examined using disc diffision technique. Evaluation of zone diameter of test strains were carried out according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Findings of the study show that test strains have sensitivity to test antibiotics in various rates. The most effective antimicrobial agents against to isolates were imipenem, amikacin and ofloxacin (100%); ciprofloxacin, gentamicin and chloramphenicol (97.06%); cefepime and tobramycin (94.12%); ceftazidime, cefotaxime and aztreonam (91.18%); amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (88.24%); cefazolin and cefuroxime (82.35%), respectively. Antimicrobial resistance was detected at low levels while ESBL was not detected. As a result, significant antimicrobial resistance was not detected in community-acquired Klebsiella isolates in our region. Key words: Community-acquired Klebsiella spp., antimicrobial susceptibility, ESBL.
