Abstract (EN)
Although the studies practiced in the field of Modern Turkish Literature are quantitively much, as the time passes by, it repeats itself in terms of topic. Considering the studies, it can be concluded that researches mostly have been made on certain names and topics in the field of literature. In our study, in order to remove this situation, which is a big lack in literature, we have studied the works of Muzahipzade Celal about whom there are not enough academic studies in spite of making great effort for the development of drama. Within this period, ın what way the old Istanbul life in writer's dramas is approached in his works, writer's point of view about old Istanbul customs and his approach to cultural elements that have a great value in the eyes of public, forms the content of our study. By dividing our study which is composed of four chapters into subheadings as; district, customs and traditions, professions and entertainment, we aimed to reveal how the old Istanbul life is reflected on his works, and how his dramas host the social life. Fort his purpose, we enriched our study by supporting the data we gathered during the time we studied Musahipzade Celal's dramas, with the data we obtained from other resources about the topic.
