Examination of music teacher candidates' burnout level for individual instrument lesson: The example of Central Anatolia

This research aimed to determine the individual instrument lesson burnout level of music teacher candidates and to determine the level of "gender", "class level", "perceived instrument success", "type of high school graduated", "instrument experience", "change instrument teacher", It was conducted to determine the relationship between variables such as "communication with the instrument teacher", "loving the instrument", "perceived family support", "having a suitable physical environment for playing the instrument".The research is in relational screening model. The data in the research were obtained by using the 10-item 'Personal Information Form' prepared by the researcher based on expert opinions and the literature, and the "Individual Instrument Lesson Burnout Scale" of D. Girgin (2015). Percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation were used in the analysis of the data using the SPSS package program, and whether the variances showed normal distribution in the analysis of the relations between the variables was determined by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. MannWhitney U test was used for comparison of two groups and Kruskal Wallis H test was used for more than two groups. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the music teacher candidates' burnout levels for individual instrument lessons were very low. In addition, there is a significant difference between the burnout level of music teacher candidates and the variables of "gender", "perceived instrument success", "communication with the instrument teacher", "loving the instrument", "having a suitable physical environment for playing an instrument"; It was determined that there was no significant difference between the variables of "class level", "instrument experience", "change instrument teacher", "type of high school graduated" and "perceived family support". According to the 'gender' variable, female teacher candidates have a higher level of individual instrument burnout than male teacher candidates, the higher the perceived instrument success in terms of the 'perceived instrument success' variable, the lower the individual instrument burnout level of the music teacher candidates. According to the 'communication with the instrument teacher' variable, the individual instrument burnout level of the music teacher candidates decreases as the communication with the instrument teacher improves, the level of liking the instrument in terms of the 'loving the instrument' variable and the individual instrument burnout level of the music teacher candidates are inversely proportional, the instrument study environment in terms of the 'instrument study environment' variable. It was concluded that the individual instrument burnout level of the music teacher candidates decreased as the conditions improved.
