Music teacher candidates' attitudes towards distance instrument education

In this study, the main goal is examining the attitudes of music teacher candidates towards distance instrument learning according to their gender, age, the region where they following the lessons during the epidemic, the university they were educated at, the year of their study, the type of instrument they learning, the succes of the instument course, their academic grade averages, the technological tool they used to access the lessons, the connection status and communication and interaction between the candidates and instructors while they following the lessons. The sample of the research consists of 240 students studying at the Music Education Departments of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, Balıkesir University, Bursa Uludağ University, Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Trakya University and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University in the 2020-2021 academic year. General survey model was used in this study. The data of the research were collected with the Personal Information Form and the Attitude towards Distance Education Scale and the adapted version of this scale for the research, the 'Attitude Scale towards Distance Instrumental Education'. Data analysis was performed by 26th version of SPSS Statistics. Categorical variables were calculated as numbers and percentages. Internal consistency regarding the reliability of the scale used was calculated with the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. In the study, the Independent Sample T test was used to compare paired groups with normal distribution while One Way Anove Test was used to compare more than two groups and for correlation analysis Pearson test was used. The difference between groups determined by Benforrini Test. As a result of the research, a moderate positive relationship was determined between the attitudes of music teacher candidates towards distance instument education and the age variable and a low negative relationship was determined compared to the variables of the university where the education was received and the last grade received from the individual instrument. No difference was found between the attitudes of music teacher candidates towards distance instrument education and their gender, region during the epidemic, academic year, type of instrument, academic average, technological tool used, internet connection status, communication and interaction status with instructors.
