Abstract (EN)
In our study we aimed to compare the effects of nitrous oxide and remifentanil on haemodynamic parameters, some heamotologic values, recovery times, side effects, patient and surgeon satisfactions.Seventy-five ASA I-II scheduled for abdominal hysterectomy, were randomly divided into three groups; nitrous oxide (Group N), remifentanil (Group R) and control (Group K). Remifentanil were given at a bolus dose of 0,5 ?g kg-1 to the remifentanil group patients and an iv infusion of 0,2 ?g kg-1 dk-1 dose was started. After tracheal intubation, fresh gas 4 L dk-1 including 50 % O2/N2O (in Group N) or medical air (in Group R, K) in with 2 % sevoflurane was started to be given. Haemodynamic parameters, B12 vitamin and ferritin values, side effects, patient and surgeon satisfactions and recovery times were recorded. In remifentanil group, intraoperative heart rate (HR) values were found to be statistically lower than in control group at 0., 10., 15., 30. minutes (p<0,05). In group N, the intraoperative mean arterial pressure (MAP) at 45. minute was statistically higher than in group R (p=0,02). The time for Alderete recovery score to be 9 in Group N was statistically longer than in Group R (p=0,009). In Grup N, the percentage of the patients who had nause and vomiting was statistically higher than in Grup R (p=0,001). Intraoperative surgeon satisfactions were Group R > Group N > Group K respectively (p<0,05).As a result, remifentanil provided a stabil haemodynamic effect and rapid recovery at least as much as nitrous oxide and provided a satisfactory general anaesthesia by causing less side effects. Keywords: Nitrous Oxide, Remifentanil, Haemodynamic Effects, B12 Vitamin, Ferritin
