Abstract (EN)

Turkish has a rich vocabulary because it is an ancient language. The fact that a language has a rich vocabulary provides the speakers of that language with expressive power. Turkish, which is one of the common identities of Turks living in wide geographies from past to present, has created an important area of interaction. Turkish is like a laboratory for linguists with its reflection of cultural motifs, communication power and code copying. In this study, Turkish ways of expressing anger were examined using the monograph method. Data were obtained by examining works and dictionaries in Historical and Contemporary Turkish Dialects. The aim of the research is to determine how the emotion of anger is expressed in Historical and Contemporary Turkish Dialects, to categorize the detected words as cognitive-emotional reaction, physical reaction, verbal reaction and qualitative nomenclature according to the classification based on the science of psychology, and to show the spatial distribution of these words on the map. In the "Introduction" section of this study, information about the purpose, subject, limitations and method is given. In the "General Information on Anger" section, a sub-heading is included regarding the definition, formation and classification of emotions, and detailed information is given about the emotion of anger under various sub-headings. Relevant works and dialect dictionaries were examined in the sections "Conceptual Field of the Word Anger in Historical Turkish Dialects" and "Conceptual Field of the Word Anger in Contemporary Turkish Dialects". Among the works and dictionaries examined, words that fall within the conceptual field of anger and rage were identified. The detected words were categorized according to the classification based on the science of psychology, and their spatial distribution was shown with maps. In the "Anger in Turkish Slang" section, slang words expressing anger have been compiled. Idioms expressing anger are presented in the "Anger in Idioms" section. In the "Conclusion" section, the findings examined were evaluated. Key Words: Vocabulary, monography, anger, mental verb.
