Abstract (EN)

This investigation was carried out in order to determine the effect of virtual learning environments in accordance with learning styles on student achievement and opinions. Accordingly, it was aimed to design a virtual learning environment appropriate with leraning styles to prepare a platform which can detect the learning styles online, and to determine the students? opinions regarding the virtual learning environment.This study is aimed to examine the effects of traditional and virtual learning environments on learners? achievements and opinions. In this way, we trial to determine the effect of the independent factors, virtual learning styles and traditional learning environment, on the dependent factors as student achievement and opinions. This research was carried out as an experimental study. The study group of the investigation was established on 7th grade students in Cemil Alevli Primary School in Şehitkamil, Gaziantep.In the research, Kolb Learning Style Inventory, originated from 12 articles, was used to determine the learning styles.In the statistical analysis related to the investigation, SPSS package programme was used. Average scores of the groups and the standard deviations on the distribution of scores were calculated. In within-group and between-group comparisons T test and variance analysis were utilized and as the level of significance, .05 was determined to be confidence level.As a result of the study, it can be said that there were not any meaningful differences between virtual learning environments based on learning styles and traditional environments on learners? achievement. As a result of the interviews with participants in the virtual learning environment, it was seen that the work performed in the study was found fun and enjoyable by the students, and it was seen that many students could not find the opportunity to meet with an environment like this before and this study was the first for many students. The common idea in the result of the students? comments is that the virtual learning environment is a helpful environment that can be used for all lessons and can help to repeat the lessons given in classroom settings.
