The examination of prospective teachers' attitudes towards teaching profession and school management

The aim of the study was to determine the prospective teachers' attitudes towards teaching profession and school management and examine them in terms of certain variables. The universe of the research consisted of prospective teachers who are the senior students studying at Gaziantep University Faculty of Education and those who attend Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program there. Within this context, the Attitudes Towards Teaching Profession Scale and the Attitudes Towards School Management Scale were administered to a total of 385 participants appointed by simple random sampling method in 2018-2019 academic year. The SPSS 23.0 software package was used in data analysis of the research designed through the correlational survey model and parametric tests were applied to the data set which was normally distributed. According to the research results, the prospective teachers' attitudes towards the teaching profession and school management were found to be positive at different levels. Furthermore, it was determined that the participants' scores differed significantly according to certain variables and there was a statistically significant relationship between the attitudes towards the teaching profession and school management.
