Abstract (EN)
It was aimed to compare the transformational leadership skills of school principals working in public and private schools, according to teacher perceptions, according to gender, age, marital status, professional seniority and branch variables. The research is a descriptive research conducted according to the survey model by collecting quantitative data. The population of the research consists of 23,674 teachers working in public and private secondary schools in Ankara in the 2022-2023 academic year. The sample consists of 510 teachers determined through simple random sampling. According to research findings; The transformational leadership skills of school principals of teachers working in private schools are related to controlling group goals, providing vision, inspiration and being a suitable role model, showing individual attention, providing intellectual stimulation, having high expectations of success and the perception levels of total transformational leadership of teachers working in public schools. It is seen that the perception levels of school principals regarding transformational leadership skills are higher than those of school principals. No significant difference was found in teacher perception levels regarding the comparison of transformational leadership skills of school principals working in public and private schools according to marital status and professional seniority variables. Teacher opinions regarding the comparison of transformational leadership skills of school principals working in public and private schools; At the perception levels of showing individual attention according to gender and age variables, at the perception levels of providing control of group goals, providing vision, inspiration and being an appropriate role model according to the educational level variable, and at the total transformational leadership perception levels, at the perception levels of providing control of group goals, providing vision, inspiration and being an appropriate role model according to the branch variable, attaining control of group goals, providing vision, inspiration and being an appropriate It was concluded that there were differences in the perception levels of being a role model and total transformational leadership.
