Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between teachers? epistemological beliefs and attitude of resist to organizational change. In this respect, principally it is aimed to determine teachers? epistemological beliefs and the level of attitude of resist to organizational change and afterwards to determine whether there has been a significant variation of the teachers? perceptions according to the variables of gender, seniority and branch. Finally, by applying correlation and multiple regression analysis the relationships between epistemological beliefs and attitude of resist to organizational change have been dealt. The sample of research includes 256 teachers, working at primary schools in the central districts of Ankara, who were chosen by random sampling method. In collecting data ?Epistemological Beliefs Scale? which was developed by Schommer (1998) and adapted in Turkish by Karhan (2007) and ?Resist to Change Scale? developed by Oreg (2006) were used. In the analysis of the data Independent Samples t-Test, One Way ANOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis techniques were used.As a result of the research it has been regarded that teachers? epistemological beliefs have not only partially improved sides of epistemological concept but also comply with the traditional science conception, the level of the teachers? attitude to resist to change was low or medium level. These results indicate that the teachers are receptive to change and the level of resist to change was low. In some dimensions of teachers? epistemological beliefs and the level of resist to change have been significant to the variables of gender and seniority notwithstanding they have not been significant to the variable of branch. When analyzed the relationships between the sub-dimensions of epistemological beliefs and resistance to change, there have been significant relationships among all the sub-dimensions except for two sub-dimensions. As a result of regression analysis it has been concluded that epistemological beliefs predict resistance to change.
