Okul müdürünün perspektifine göre okul gelişiminde okul liderliğinin rolü üzerine niteliksel bir araştırma (Erbil örneği)

The current study was conducted with the aim of the role of school leadership in school improvement, according to the opinions of school administrators and professors of educational administration in Erbil, Iraq. The research was carried out in a case study design. The study group of the research consists of the principals of primary schools in Erbil and the professors of educational administration. The number of participants, consisting of 15 people selected through purposive sampling, was determined according to data saturation. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect data, and expert opinion was taken while developing the interview form. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were collected under 25 themes through content analysis. In the research, it was concluded that school leaders can make various contributions in terms of school improvement. Accordingly, creating remedial strategies for the development of students, supporting the school's infrastructure and technological opportunities, creating a suitable learning environment for students, setting high goals for students, setting and explaining clear, understandable and long-term goals for the school, encouraging teacher cooperation. It has been concluded that strategies such as including teacher and school staff in decision-making processes can make significant differences in terms of school improvement.
