Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the opinions and expectations of school administrators and teachers in Western Black Sea region province regarding the use of artificial intelligence in education. A mixed method was used in the research. The survey method was used among quantitative survey methods. In addition, qualitative data was collected by interviewing administrators and teachers. The study group consisted of 376 administrators and teachers working in the central district. Data were collected from 376 teachers and administrators for the quantitative part of the study, and from 25 teachers and administrators for the qualitative part. The Artificial Intelligence Opinion Scale developed by Dülger and Köklü (2023) was used to determine the opinions of administrators and teachers on the use of artificial intelligence in education. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher was used to determine the opinions and expectations of the administrators. As a result, it was seen that the opinions and expectations of teachers and administrators towards the use of artificial intelligence in education were at average values. It was observed that teachers and administrators with low professional seniority had more positive views towards the use of artificial intelligence in education. In addition, it was concluded that the opiof teachers and administrators working in vocational high schools towards the use of artificial intelligence tools in education were more positive. Teachers stated that the ways of obtaining information about artificial intelligence were mostly social media and the press. They stated that artificial intelligence cannot be a main element in education, and that it is mostly used to support educational activities.
