Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between school administrators' level of well-being and their level of burnout and to analyse their level of psychological well-being and their level of burnout in accordance with certain demographic variables. The sample of the study consists of a total of 216 school administrators who were in office in the 2016-2017 school year in kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools and high schools which provide educational services in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, under the supervision of Kahta District Directorate of National Education. The data collection tools in this study are Psychological Well-being Scale, which was developed by Ryff (1989) and then adapted into Turkish by Akın (2008); Maslach Burnout Inventory, which was developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and later adapted into Turkish by Ergin (1992); and a Personal Data Form developed by the researcher herself. During this analysis, methods such as arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way variance analysis (One-Way ANOVA), t test, Bonferroni Correction test, Kolmogorov Smirnov test, Pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis were used. According to the findings of the study, school administrators' level of psychological well-being is high, whereas their level of burnout is low. Although no significant difference was observed in school administrators' level of psychological well-being in terms of the variables of sex, age, marital status, type of school they work at, seniority in administrative office, and the location of school, a significant difference was observed in their level of burnout related to the variables of marital status and seniority in administrative office. A negative, medium-scaled, significant relationship was determined between school administrators' level of psychological well-being and their level of burnout. Key Words: School Administrator, Psychological Well-being, Burnout
