Techno pedagogical and technology leadership competencies of school administrators

Information and technology are developing and changing day by day in 21st century which is known as informatics age. Educational field is influenced like several field with developing and changing technology and reaching information, velocity of reaching information and sufficiency of information are changing. One of the most influenced field from this development is educational field. It is seen in our country that technological investments are increasing and educational environments for this issue are arranged in recent years. Expectations from our teachers and students for the quality of education are increased with the entrance of technology in educational field. For satisfying these expectations, only equipping the educational environment with technological devices and substructures cannot be sufficient. To make the integration of technology with educational processes efficiently and satisfy this expectation, it is essential to find staff who can lead the employees in every aspects of manner for using technology in school and integrate technology with curriculum and syllabus. For this issue school administrators are the persons who can be leader. This study aims to determine at which level school administrators, who is needed to undertake school technology leadership, satisfy these expectations and the qualifications which this school administrators need to have. This study is researched in 2019-2020 educational years in Batman province with school administrators (188) and teachers (558) working in state school by taking sample. The perceptions for school administrators' competencies for technology leadership according to teachers' view are measured with "competency scale for school managers' technology leadership "which contains NETS -A standarts. The perceptions of technology leadership and competencies of techno pedagogic according to school administrators' own view are measured with the scale of TPACK of which expansion is "Techno pedagogic Education Competencies". According to results of the study, school administrators find themselves competent and eager for technology leadership and techno pedagogic competencies at whole scale. It is also determined according to teachers' view that school administrator is competent for technology leadership in general manner. School administrators' sufficiency for techno pedagogic competency increases as the management term time and daily computer usage time increase. It is also indicated that demographic variables such as gender and age do not constitute any differences. Demographic variables of teachers such as age and gender do not constitute any differences for the perception of technology leadership of their school administrator.
