The management roles of school administrators examining according to teacher's opinions

The purpose of this research is to examine the managerial roles of school administrators according to the views of teachers. The research was designed according to the exploratory sequential design model as a mixed method and design in which quantitative and qualitative data are used together. The sample of the study consists of 411 teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in the central district of Hatay province. Within the scope of the research, a personal information form was used to reach the demographic information of the teachers, and the "Manager Roles" scale developed by AYYILDIZ (2015) was used to reach their views on the roles of the administrators. The scale consists of eight parts in order to measure the level of school administrators to perform the roles of leadership, guidance, family and environmental relations, communication, entrepreneurship, education, legislation and management processes. The analysis of the data obtained was carried out with the SPSS (Statistical Package fort the Social Sciences) 22.0 package program. In order to test the significance according to the variables, independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA) were used, and the significance was analyzed at the p<.05 level. Standard deviation, percentage, frequency and arithmetic mean calculations were used in the analysis of descriptive statistics. When the findings obtained as a result of the research were examined, it was concluded that school administrators performed the roles of leadership, guidance, family and environment relations, communication, entrepreneurship, education-teaching and management processes at the level of "most of the time" and the role of legislation at the level of "always", according to the opinions of the teachers. In terms of gender variable, there was a difference in favor of female teachers between teachers' views on only leadership and legislation roles of administrators. In terms of educational status variable, it was observed that there was a significant difference in favor of undergraduate teachers among teachers' opinions in all roles of administrators, except for the role of management processes. According to the variable of professional seniority of the teachers, there is a significant difference between the views of the administrators on the roles of guidance, family and environment relations, communication, entrepreneurship, education-training and management processes. According to the institution type variable, a significant difference was found between the views of teachers regarding the leadership, guidance and entrepreneurship roles of administrators.
