Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the management skills of school administrators and the effectiveness of their schools according to the perceptions of primary school teachers. In addition, it was examined whether the perceptions of the teachers participating in the research differ in terms of demographic variables such as gender, age, professional seniority and education level. The universe of the research consisted of 525 classroom teachers working in public primary schools in the central district of Bolu in the 2021-2022 academic year. All of these teachers were reached and 270 teachers responded and participated in the research. In the research, data were collected with online forms and relational scanning model was used. Personal information form, Management Skills Scale and School Effectiveness Scale were used as data collection tools. Data analysis was made using the SPSS 22.0 package program. Frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation values were calculated in descriptive statistics. Also, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman Rho Correlation were used to analyze the data. The findings obtained in the study are as follows: The perceptions of the teachers participating in the study regarding the management skills of the school administrators are at the level of 'totally agree' in the whole scale and in all its sub-dimensions. Classroom teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of the schools they work in are at the level of "agree". Among the variables examined according to the perceptions of the teachers, only in the technical skills sub-dimension in the gender variable; in all sub-dimensions in the age variable; in the qualitative skills sub-dimension in the professional seniority variable and in all sub-dimensions in the variable of educational status, it was concluded that there was no significant difference. Looking at the results of the research on school effectiveness, it was seen that while there was no significant difference in the variables of gender and educational status, there was a significant difference in the variables of age and professional seniority. In the study, it was determined that there was a moderate positive relationship in the Spearman Rho Correlation, which was made to determine the relationship between the management skills of school administrators and the effectiveness of their schools. Based on these findings, different suggestions have been developed.
