Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of different physiotherapy programs in shoulder tendon pathologies. Forty-two patients with shoulder tendon pathology (subacromial impingement syndrome, biceps tendinitis and rotator cuff I and II) were included in the study. Patients were randomly divided into 2 groups by closed envelope method and different physiotherapy protocols were prepared. Patients who were classified as functional group (exercise only) and conventional group (exercise + home exercise) were evaluated at baseline and at 6th week. The numerical rating scale (NRS) for pain was filled. Joint range of motion was assessed by goniometer, muscle strength by hand dynamometer, endurance by modified push-up test, and functional DASH, Constant-Murley score and TFAST (Timed Functional Arm and Shoulder Test). At the end of our study, a functional assessment method, TFAST, showed moderate-high correlation between pain, ROM, muscle strength, Constan-Murley score (CMS) and arm shoulder and hand problems questionnaire (DASH). (p≤0,05, r≤0,8) In conclusion, it has been shown that the use of different physiotherapy protocols in shoulder tendon pathologies is effective in TFAST method which is pain, joint range of motion, muscle strength, durability and functional evaluation method.
