Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the sports injury status, risk factors, frequency of injuries and formation patterns of students aged 14-17 in secondary education institutions in Kocaeli.The literature review was made in accordance with the subject of the research. Information was given about the sports injuries and treatment methods of the related problems.In this study conducted in Kocaeli province, 400 athletes were surveyed voluntarily to 290 male and 110 female students. Descriptive statistics were made using the percentage distribution and frequency in comparing the variables of the personal information of the athletes participating in this study by gender. The K-Square test was used to correlate these data we obtained and whether there was a significant relationship according to the result, the result was linked to the alpha 0.05 level.In Kocaeli province, the frequency of injury, disability, region and types of injury, and factors affecting sports injuries were determined.It was determined that most of the students (60%) who participated in the study were injured.It was observed that the use of protective materials (73.53%) was low while doing sports activities. It was understood that the injury areas belonged to the sports branch. The wrist looked like the most common injury site. Keywords: Sports injury, adolescence, frequency of injury, injury factor
