Relationship between secondary education teachers organizational devotion levels and perception level of leadership behaviors of directors

This research has been conducted to investigate relationship between secondary education teachers? organizational devotion levels and perception level of leadership behaviors of directors.Research environment is secondary school teachers (510 people) in Istanbul city, Tuzla town for 2010-2011 semesters. Big portion of research environment was conducted. We have reached 316 subjects.Data from research have been collected via Organizational Devotion Scale (Karakus, 2005) and Ethical Leadership Scale (ELO) (Yilmaz, 2005). In the first part of the scale of total three parts personal data was searched, in the second part total 21 behavioral expression about ?Emotional Loyalty?, ?Continuity Loyalty? and ?Normative Loyalty? were searched to measure attitudes towards organization and in the third part 44 assessment expression were mentioned to measure perception level of leadership behaviors.Data gathered from subjects were coded and processed with a SPSS package program in computer. For the first part of data frequency and percentage distribution were calculated and to determine attitudes and perceptions of teachers arithmetical average and standard deviation were used, to determine differences between attitudes ?t? test was used for dual comparisons and for variable groups more than two, one sided variance analysis was sued. The question whether there is a coherent difference between groups or not was tested at the level of ?=0.05 meaning level.Findings of the research are as following;1-It has been observed that organizational devotion level of teachers is at medium level.2-There have not been observed any effect of gender, school type, branches and graduation on organizational devotion level of teachers.3-While no coherent difference was observed in Normative Loyalty and Emotional Loyalty scores according to marital status of teachers, married teachers have received higher scores in Continuity and Total loyalty concepts.4-About sublevel of Continuity Loyalty of organizational loyalty levels of teachers: teachers with 11 or more years experience have more organizational loyalty emotion than those with 0-5 years experience and in other dimensions no difference was observed.5-About Continuity loyalty of organizational loyalty levels of teachers: teachers with age above 31 have more organizational loyalty emotion than those 21-30 age group and in other sublevels no difference was observed.6-About organizational loyalty levels of teachers: Emotional loyalty of paid teachers, Continuity loyalty of permanent teachers and normative loyalty of paid teachers are higher compared to other.7-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors was found to be good (I agree).8-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when evaluated in terms of gender difference ethical leadership perception of males for directors was found to be higher than females in all scales and sublevels.9-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when evaluated in terms of marital status ethical leadership perception of married teachers for directors was found to be higher in all scales and in Climate Ethics and Behavioral Ethics sub levels.10-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when evaluated according to type of school notable difference was found in Ethics in decision making and behavioral ethics sublevels. Ethical leadership level perception of teachers working in vocational high schools is higher than those working on general high schools.11-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when evaluated according to experience teachers with 6-10 years experience have higher level of ethical leadership perception than those with 1-5 years experience in all scales and sublevels.12-When ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors was evaluated for branches, graduations and working type no difference was found.13-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when evaluated in terms of age groups teachers age between 31-40 experience have higher level of ethical leadership perception than those with 21-30 age years experience in all scales and sublevels.14-Ethical leadership level perception of teachers about directors when compared with organizational devotion relations are coherent in positive direction statistically. As organizational devotion increases so does ethical leadership perception level increase.
